Truss Material Size Description

Jul 25,2025

Aluminum alloy trusses, as lightweight and high-strength support structures, are widely used in scenarios such as stage construction, exhibition displays, and lighting suspension. The selection of their material sizes directly affects the stability and load-bearing capacity of the structure.

In terms of material grades, the commonly used aluminum alloy grade for aluminum alloy trusses is 6061-T6. This grade of aluminum alloy has high strength and good corrosion resistance. The tensile strength of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy can reach more than 310MPa, and the yield strength is about 276MPa, which can meet the load-bearing requirements of most trusses.

In terms of cross-sectional dimensions, different specifications of aluminum alloy trusses have different cross-sectional dimensions. Common cross-sectional shapes of trusses include square and circular. The cross-sectional dimensions of square trusses are usually expressed by the side length, such as 200mm×200mm, 300mm×300mm, 400mm×400mm, etc.; circular trusses are marked by diameter, with common ones being 219mm, 325mm, etc. Taking a 200mm×200mm square aluminum alloy truss as an example, the diameter of its main tube is generally about 25mm-30mm, the wall thickness is about 2mm-3mm, the diameter of the web member is relatively small, usually 12mm-16mm, and the wall thickness is about 1.5mm-2mm. For a 300mm×300mm square truss, the diameter of the main tube will be larger, possibly reaching 38mm-50mm, with a wall thickness of 3mm-4mm, and the diameter of the web member will also increase accordingly to 16mm-22mm, with a wall thickness of 2mm-3mm.

Trusses also come in various length dimensions, with common ones being 1m, 1.5m, 2m, 3m, etc., and can also be customized according to actual needs. In practical applications, the appropriate length should be selected based on specific load-bearing requirements, spans, and construction scenarios. For example, in cases where the span is small and the load is light, trusses with a length of 1m or 1.5m can be chosen; when the span is large and heavy loads need to be borne, trusses with a length of 2m, 3m or even longer should be used, along with corresponding strengthening measures.

In addition, attention should be paid to the dimensions of the connecting parts of aluminum alloy trusses. The size of the connector should match the cross-sectional size of the truss to ensure a firm and reliable connection. Common connection methods include plug-in and bolt-type, and the size and structure of the connectors vary with different connection methods.

In conclusion, aluminum alloy trusses have a variety of material sizes. When selecting, factors such as load-bearing capacity, span, and usage scenario should be comprehensively considered to ensure the safety and stability of the truss structure.
